Le Retour à la Raison

Le Retour à la Raison

Le Retour à la Raison is a 1923 film directed by Man Ray. It consists of animated textures,Rayographs and the torso of Kiki of Montparnasse.

Short film editing, produced and directed by Man Ray in 1923. With model Kiki de Montparnasse.

my opinion,
short black and white animation, just  shows texture and distortion for its viewers.

A cry from the heart rather than the brain, a cry of emotion rather than reason.

my opinion
Yes, not romantic but brings your mind to a halt. I find it like a kind of sensory deprivation where the constancy of the scream empties and focuses the mind to, yes, perhaps absorb and appreciate the manipulation of sound and light you speak of. A fantastic film.

Un Chien Andalou

Un Chien Andalou is a 1929 silent surrealist short film by the Spanish director Luis Buñuel and artist Salvador Dalí It was Buñuel's first film and was initially released in 1929 with a limited showing at Studio Des Ursulines in Paris, but became popular and ran for eight months.

plot
The film has no plot in the conventional sense of the word. The chronology of the film is disjointed, jumping from the initial "once upon a time" to "eight years later" without the events or characters changing very much. It uses dream logic in narrative flow that can be described in terms of then-popular Freudian free association, presenting a series of tenuously related scenes.

my opinion
i think the film is made for eduction as it shows the characters in past tense then they appear again its possibly looks like its going backwards like back to the past.

Downside up

A film which, by the use of a simple camera movement, explores and reviews some relationships to the ground. The viewpoint continuously orbits places, objects, people and events. The observations gradually speed up to reveal a double sided ground flipping like a tossed coin, then slow again to oscillate about the earths edge.

my opinion,
my personal opinion on the film, is that i think that there was a crane used to make the production as it flips the camera over groups of people and makes it look like its going under ground then coming back up and over again.

The Big shave

The Big Shave is a 1967 six-minute short film directed by Martin Scorsese.

film discription
the recipient of the title shave, repeatedly shaving away hair, then skin, in an increasingly bloody and graphic bathroom scene. Many film critics have interpreted the young man's process of self-mutilation as a metaphor for the self-destructive involvement of the United States in the Vietnam War.

my opinion,
personally i think the short film, frightens the audience when he starts shaving his skin, i think that when it shows him shaving his skin it shows the viewer what pain was felt in the vietnam war.
